Current Life:

I thank everyone who was concerned about my issue with my friends. I'm sorry that I never said why. I might as well now....

I have three friends that I'm always with since high school (met at different times). It's Karen, Shirley, and Cupcake (Yes Cupcake. It's what I call him. It's an in-joke). We're always together except when I'm in school. It's been like that forever, but sometimes I don't wanna be with all of them.

Now, Cupcake was Karen's boyfriend of many years. I honestly thought they would never break up... but they did. And Karen is closer to him than the rest of us. Now Karen is known by everyone who knows me as my best friend since practically the first day of high school. And for the record I'm about to be a college junior.

So, I had a mini barbecue at my house. I invited Karen, Shirley, another friend, and NOT Cupcake the day before. It was a small thing. Not to mention I felt closer to those I invited than him.

I invited the other friend and she said she had plans. Shirley said she'd come and Karen asked if Cupcake was invited. I told her no and asked if that was bad. She said yes and I said it was a small event. She said she was okay anyway and that she would come.

So when I woke up the day of the barbecue I received a text from Karen saying that she was not coming. I asked why and she never said why. Then Shirley texted me later saying that she was sick and wasn't going to come either.

I was pissed. Why didn't my best friend answer me? Did Shirley lie to me? My friends ditched me. I asked Shirley if they were mad and she said no, but it was Karen's idea to make it an "all or nothing" thing.

What? All or nothing? What pissed me off was not that she said "all or nothing", but it was because she NEVER SAID IT TO ME. Communication is key in friendship. If she didn't like that I didn't invite him, SHE SHOULD HAVE SAID IT. I'm your best friend of 7+ years. I'm the one person you can trust, you can tell me anything! I'm Eboni! Karen means a lot to me, and yet she couldn't simply state her opinion.

*sigh*

I'm sure you guys think this is trivial and petty and stupid... but if my friend can't talk to me, then what is the friendship based on?

I talked to Shirley last night and I apologized for accusing her of lying to me. I told her basically the same thing I wrote here and she understood. She made me feel a lot better. Really, thanks Shirley. I know you'll never read this, but thanks. I have no clue how Cupcake feels, and now I know Karen wants to talk. I wish she would already...

...also, I didn't get hired. Figures.... crappy economy. XD And I'm trying to reach 500 songs! I have 481, only 19 more! Any suggestions? I like techno, trance, drum and bass, hardcore, happy hardcore, game music, game music remixes, heehee... basically anything weird.
